FINALLY

The birthday post (part ii) is up!

Took me months to finally find time to consolidate the pictures from various sources, edit the video, upload the pictures and BLOG. Yay! :)

After this post is done I can finally move on.. to settle more backlog! So yes, here we go. Enjoy the load of pics :)

Photobucket
a very last minute email invite

It all began with an idea to make my 21st birthday more memorable. Have been contemplating (Recall a post where I was whining whether to have a party or not. Around that period in time), but couldn't quite make up my mind due to the reasons stated in that entry.

As usual, I was such a procrastinator that I was still thinking about whether should I hold a party after my birthday (you can't really blame me since my birthday was in the midst of the horrible exam period).

And when my friends started to ask, "Eh, are you going to hold a birthday party or not huh?"

Then I started to wreck my brains for ideas and venue.

Thought of using JT aunt's multi-purpose hall but was fully booked; thought of holding on in a movie cafe in Haji Lane but shelved due to tight budget; thought of going to SAFRA but I thought it was kind of troublesome, still need SAFRA card and such.

In the end. I thought of McDonald's.

Why? All because I was working on an assignment based on McDonald's and been diligently surfing their website for info. Tada! Stumbled upon the "Planning birthday party session".

Then I thought, "Why not?" McDonald's is providing food, venue and entertainment, so all I have to do is to pay. Woo. Within budget too! Double woo.

So there started my search for the McDonald's that's ulu and located near to everyone else's house.

Anyway, that was how I landed myself in Bedok Reservoir McDonald's, booking for the venue and making myself look damn childish in front of the barely 18 year-olds. These 18-year olds are going to be the coordinators of my party! By the way, I was so sure that they were so amused by me. At the end of the party, I found out that I was the oldest birthday girl in BR McDonald's. The average age of the birthday girl/boy is 4. -_-''

Being in such a kiddy place warrants everyone to act like kids that day. That's why I wrote explicitly in the invite for everyone to be spontaneous. I was so worried no one's going to play lor!

ANYWAY, the actual day stuff.

THE GAMES

The first game of the day - The Musical Chairs! Was quite difficult initially to get the 20-somethings to play such a kiddy game. Nonetheless, my spontaneous tkgirls + huili and weiee joined the fun! :)

Photobucket
and i'm out at the FIRST round. call me gracious. haha!

Photobucket
caught koh jt stealthily walking out of the game! watch the video! he's out at the first round too ok!? not me only! lol.

MIN! You take great photos lor! All at the correct moment!

A video of all the musical chair action - I seriously hope this works! First attempt using Photobucket's video function.

Watch it here

Followed by the rounds of other games, which was spontaneous, everyone was playing if I'm not wrong. Must have gotten the adrenaline rush from watching the "match" between Huili and Weiee :) Btw, we created such a din that EVERYONE was watching us. EVEN the manager and those over at the counter. So much for choosing an ulu Mac!

他一定是個魔術師.

因為他,
沿途上看似不起眼的事物被附屬了新生命.

因為他,
枯燥乏味的文字變得美麗.

你這個聰明的鬼才.

受不了...

我不由自主地再一次喜歡上了這個人.

it's 2:38am, and i'm not sleeping

perhaps i've got the excessive adrenaline while desperately trying to finish a reflection journal due 1 feb, 2359. i finally submitted the journal at 2345. great. heck, i wasn't even reflecting!

i've received quite a number of negative vibes from people around me, including myself. why, year 2008 didn't start the way as smoothly as i thought it could be.

on a positive note, we are gathering strength from setbacks. we'll fight on :) it's always great to have friends supporting you along the way - for that, i'm thankful.

chinese new year is round the corner (*gasp, it's february already!) and i've prepared absolutely nothing. chinese new year no longer excites me like how it did when i was a child. i'm less obsessed with the thought of wearing everything (i mean everything) new.

thinking of which, chinese new year has always prove to be a fashion disaster to me. i mean, how on earth to get clothes you fancy and wearable within that short 1/2 days of shopping? the random mix-and-matches always fail me. sigh. thus explain why most of my cny clothes never see light after new year.

3 years ago, i wore these:

Photobucket

a Giordano denim jacket (which i set my eye on for days, thinking whether to get it or not 'cause it was nearing 50 bucks *if i'm not wrong*) + a "Maui Princess" spaghetti top in white + multi-function skirt from FEP + red beaded necklace from Hula & Co. BAHHHHH.

2 years ago, i wore these:

Photobucket

brown blazer + 77th street top (30 bucks i suppose) + Joop brown skirt (40 over dollars i think! a stupid brown frilly skirt!) + random bead necklace i bought from NTU bazaar. 75% of them never see light again. (my mj friends: i still love the blazer, please do not be misunderstood, if you were)

last year, i wore these:

Photobucket

i really don't know what's wrong with me. i ended up tearing the black bow and laces and wore it as a silver based pumps for an event (which was MONTHS later). i went on to tear it even further to a white (in fact, off white 'cause it was dirty after the months) pair of pumps. that lasted me for quite some time.

believe me, these are the more "see-able" pics already. the others (strangely, we take less pics during cny gatherings.. must be too busy gambling), as i browsed through my picture folder. goodness. i would have deleted it if it doesn't contain memories.

i guess the worst was quite a few years back. i remember vividly that i wore something really ridiculous. a blue blouse + a really loose wrap denim skirt kind of thing. i even had a BLUE hairclip to go with. damn, i still thought i looked really preppy to be a teacher-like image then.

damn, no wonder i'm still single. i'm such a weirdo oh my goodness! -_- hopefully this year, less enthusiasm for cny shopping would help *cross fingers*.

i'm posting these up because i reckon sometimes, you need someone to ridicule at. i can't fathom myself (then) either.

p/s: great, it's 3:32 am now. night world.
