omg.. how apt.
close your eyes and ask yourself.
are you (together/yearning for the other half) because of love? or loneliness?

another backdated entry.. apologies. heh. anyway, what a rainy (and lazy) saturday.. more reasons for me to procrastinate AGAIN. when am i really going to start on my PA report.. i wonder. (:
14 july - ling's birthday (:
and how nice. i got to start my saturday going to help out at work. haha. but.. ironically, i love my job. the long hours and pressing schedules, i love it. more about my work soon.
because of my last minute call to work, i got to sort of postpone my secret meeting with felicia to slot in my little birthday "card" (not really a card per se..) along with the other goodies we got for her. concept wise, it was rather similar to felicia's. just that this time it wasn't a butterfly, but a stylo Nike ladies bottle. check out Nike Women's in taka.

it was a um.. simpler card cuz i was running out of time (oops...) but i tried my best to make "L" as intricate as possible.. heh. sorry eh, everyone knows i'm such a hopeless procrastinator.

shortly after i met felicia, we gathered at lido intending to watch a movie. but the seats left are all front rows la! urgh. so we went to eat instead.
we went to Big O at wheelocks place. yikes. i will never ever step in again.
- food: passable.. but too pricey. $15 for millionaire's salad with a few pieces of meat (only served when we enquired). how's that? i don't feel pampered like a millionaire at all. -_-''
- service: horrible. utterly dao waiters and waitresses as if we owed them a living. wth. took a good 10 minutes (or more) before they finally bothered to serve us.
- price: why am i paying 10% service charge when there's no service at all?! urgh. they don't even offer to give a PLASTIC smile like, "please come again *radiant smile*!".. more like "can you don't come here ever?!"
all in all, i don't like it there. i guess i'd feel better at nydc (which was just opposite big o).

to cheer us up, we took pics.

btw, this spot was in wheelocks. bet you guys never notice this place. ha. i felt so tourist-sy that day...
then we went zara for shopping!! we were so engrossed that we almost forgot that we were supposed to meet siti for our part ii - durian feast!
we met siti in bugis and took neo-prints! lol. quite fun la.. but felt seriously over-aged.
by this time, we were like tired.. so we started stoning at rockery.. and took pics again! haha.

energy restored, and off we went to bugis street. durian feast was hilarious.
it was all our first time eating durians outdoors (as in eating along the roadside).
then as girls, we were picky about which vendor, which table to choose.. so anyway, we settled at this rather spacious spot for our durian feast.
then.. we even went to buy WET TISSUES in fear of dirty hands. lol. i even contemplated to buy little translucent plastic bags so that i dont have dirty hands! lol. but i reckon its really odd to do that, 'cause NO ONE does that there. so wet tissues will suffice then. =/

siti and i can be the official durian-openers that day la. but some of them are so difficult to pry open! so.. perhaps guys should be present for such durian events. (:
it was actually quite an experience. the night breeze and the great company.. it all makes the spiky durian seem a lil' more tastier. but woah. 3 D24 are huge and we were so full ok. what an exotic dinner. heh. and soo much better than lunch! (im still appalled by big O.. bleah)
anyway.. we wanted to take a group photo.. and siti was picking which one will be friendly enough to take pic for us! thank goodness there was this bunch of guys around our age who were there ready to feast on durians too! so there you go..
this was not it! tired enough, we still went to explore arab street and haji lane. but haiz, most of the stalls are closed. i'd love to visit such quirky concept stores (albeit the pricey designer prices)..
oh what an eventful day! we were allll tired but fulfilled. hope you had fun too, ling! (:

ok, this is ultra backdated. but i owe mingshu an entry.. so here goes.
23rd june - mingshu's 21st partayy! (:
as usual, people gathered at mingshu's house for her 21st celebration.. feels like CNY celebration in advance. then i thought, perhaps she can host her wedding at her house too? then the jie-meis and "brothers" team can play mahjong and blackjack like crazy and loot all the couple's angpows! lol. ok that's so not romantic.
what makes this year's celebration more memorable was.. ms ivy teong and ms khoo sian chen gracing the event! omg! we've not seen them, especially ms khoo, for EONS. yes, i mean EONS. and ha, the three of us went to her party late, as usual.
tk gang.. gathering more in numbers
for once, bee was earlier.. so poor lisi and bee had ate to their fill and stoned while waiting for us. heh. :)
which party venue allows you to nua in the Star-of-the-day's bed? only here, i suppose.
mingshu catered food so that it's more hassle-free.. so it was chow-time! woohoo.
but why am i the only one with plate huh. and thanks puay yee.. this is such a random shot.
ok, can i eat soon? lol. (and what's with green? so tk..)

mahjong till late with tkgals and kelvin, aka mr "yi se". mingshu kept complaining that he could have won but he deliberately did not want to win, just to hope to get a yi se. so greedy. hoho.

when emotions got stuck in between..
when the good, the bad - juxtaposed..
it's really horrid.
so much so that i have no idea what should i be feeling.
that moment,
i wonder if i should flash my plastic smile..
then i realise it's not a question of "should",
rather, "could" i do it?
rationality is severely impaired at that moment in time.
paralysed.
lost to something innate and subconscious -
wretched emotions.
the more i tried to conceal,
the clumsier my expressions became.
gosh, how dumb can i be?
i can't even smile/talk to you!
when the good, the bad - juxtaposed..

towards jj lin, i always thought his packaging was more towards cutesy-boy-next-door kind.
then he launched cao cao, we see how jj lin is slowly evolving - but still not to my liking as a consumer.
now, my views for jj lin took a 180 deg change.
his latest album, westside, is a BLAST.
his latest mv went beyond sappy love stories for mainstream pop songs.
presenting to you, the killa, uncensored.
the struggle between gold and evil. of unrequited love. of possession. of a tweed definition of "everlasting love" - a definition not accepted by the mainstream, termed "psychotic".
this mv is cool. analyse how the director string everything together. i shan't be a spoiler.
enjoy.

16 june - felicia's big day! (:
cy and i met up earlier to decorate + slot pics for felicia's photo galore. as usual, i wasn't kinda early and got to rush cab there. oh man, can i stop being a late queen?! *slaps forehead
well, i was kinda late because.. i was busy rushing this out for felicia --
omg, all the twirly thingy took so long la. i used uniball black pen with a 0.38 tip ok. no black marker.. so keep sketching and colouring to thicken the twirls.
anyways.
the group of us rushed down to breeks at marina square. felicia booked the whole breeks for her bday! how cool!
it was a western-food buffet - serving grilled chicken, mushroom soup, pasta.. etc. yum!
and best of all.. we had a special concoct -
felicia's paradise
serious, the drink is specially concocted for felicia! its kinda fruitty and sweet.. so now we know felicia likes things all sweet and.. fruity! haha. (:
then bday girl cut-cake time!
breeks crew lead the bday song sing-a-long.. and there, felicia all smiling and blissed!

blows the candle and yeah, officially 21!
we got bored while waiting for the photo-taking session and started to take pics ourselves! ha.
then it was our turn - we were the last batch actually, lol.
and to end it off, we gave felicia a "birthday kiss"! (:
we had chocolate cake and yeah.. bloated la! felicia kept asking us to eat more, 'cause there was quite abit of cake left and breeks don't allow takeaways - which i don't understand why, aren't the food paid? can't they bring home? why should breeks waste food by throwing them away? weird. bah.
