well.. busy such that i dont know what im busy about?
im blind busy.. my life is now dictated by projects, reports and assignments. other than that, its the daily mad frenzy to reach home by 7 to catch princess hours (cant ch U change the timing to 9 or have repeat telecast? urgh) im seriously hooked on princess hours. the guys are soo kawaii! super duper mesmerised.. like any other regular k-drama fan, i melt at how the guys gazed at the female lead. how they do dumb things to not make the female lead think they like her. yeah, that kind of childish thing. haha.. but i like! haha. i guess all females like such plots. not just me right.. hoho..
and tell me the exams are not coming.. haha.. another round of self denial.
i want to watch death note! urgh!! the world world watched it without me me me!! so sad k. dont care, am watching it. hurmph. :) i want to see L! the habitual sweet tooth! the weirdo! haha.. freaking cute! :D

took these on a random saturday/sunday morning.. gosh. bet u guys dont know about this.. this is the legendary.. Blue's Clues! haha.. kinda dumb to watch it now.. and u pity the guy (on the left) for having to act dumb. nonetheless, the blue dog called Blue (i think.. or is it Spot?) is entertaining.. people got girlfriend can! hilarious.
solve this mystery: what's missing in this bag? no prize for guessing.. it's the WALLET! can you imagine a grown-up forgetting to bring wallet for SHOPPING?! tsk tsk mingshu.. you win hands down for being a scatter brain! :D

i long wanted to put this pic liao... couldnt find the right topic. so i give up.. just dump it here. haha.. for those familiar with the "Survivor Law"... this is the Mr Nice Guy!! :) super sweet la. imagine a guy knitting can.. aww.

recall those science tutorials where u learnt this term "hydrophobic".. which is the "fear of water". but there are many other terms attributing to the fear of "something".
i chanced upon this restaurant in bugis and they placed interesting stuffs on their tables. like personality tests, facts, etc. the table where i had my dinner was talking about.. as u've guessed it, uncommon terms (alright at least to me) used to describe phobia. to make it more exciting, let's have a mcq quiz:
1. coulrophobia is the fear of...
(a) cauliflower
(b) clowns
(c) cameras
(d) cats
2. triskaidekaphobia is the fear of...
(a) triangle
(b) the pyramid
(c) the number 3
(d) the number 13
3. atelophobia is the fear of...
(a) imperfection
(b) antelopes
(c) criticisms
(d) telephones
4. mnemophobia is the fear of...
(a) men
(b) writing memos
(c) memories
(d) the moon
5. sesquipedalophobia is the fear of...
(a) running out of time
(b) long words
(c) sequence
(d) going against the norm
...
have you jot down what you think is right?
u sure?
really sure?
.
.
.
.
alright i know u cant wait to scroll the end to get the answers. impatient you! :)
and the answers are:
1. coulrophobia is the fear of (b) clowns. [see, so clowns may not be hilarious to all..]
2. triskaidekaphobia is the fear of (d) the number 13. [which i dun understand why! so they shun wearing stuff with 13? dun make friends whose bday falls on the 13th? dun go out on the 13th?.. what's wrong with 13. =/ ]
3. atelophobia is the fear of (a) imperfection. [well, i think i have slight inclination towards this.]
4. mnemophobia is the fear of (c) memories. [which is so sad, i think.. what is life without memories? i cant imagine myself keeping away memories because i fear them.. gosh. memories, good or bad.. still good to reminiscence anyway.. but im not talking about those who had violent trauma in the past.. that i can understand.]
5. sesquipedalophobia is the fear of (b) long words. [how apt. this term is scary! lol..]

mini tk gathering on sunday
yes... and thank me.. i was the organiser again! i dislike all these mass sms-ing people abt some activities and collate info.. and mass send sms again to confirm time venue and whatnot. basically i dun like organising stuff cuz im not at all organised in the first place. so dear ivy, thank me for being so angelic! :)
the gals met at the manhattan market place (supposedly the close version of fish and co.) at plaza sing. perhaps it's the innate nature within tk girls.. we digressed so often that the waitress had to come the 3rd (or was it the 4th time?) time before she could take our orders.
the 6 of us crapped, gossiped, joked, chatted, ... felt like the good old days really. note the fact ivy didnt meet up with the others since the release of 'o' level results alright. so many years already, but still felt so similar.. the laughters and the oblivion to how others gape at our silly actions say it all :)
and the pics we took.. a whole lot! :)

the 6 of us!! gosh ivy approached a real kind soul to help us take this pic. painstaking process cuz it took the 4th/5th time before the technical glitches were overcame and capture this real nice pic of us all! :)

the 6 of us again! tried to find somewhere ulu for us to take pics (this time with self-timer).. to our horror the first spot we picked was manifested with hungry ants! so we kinda changed the spot again and again till we found the most "ideal" spot, i.e. less hungry ants. nonetheless the ants adored ivy so much and kept biting her! poor girl.
...
anyway i went to stayover in weiee's room after the gathering! :) cool i tell u! super homely!! gonna abuse her room more often.. lol..

that's the both of us! and weiee was complaining to me about how mediocre hairstylist has ruined her fringe..
gah! i cant seem to upload the other pics.. alright people dun miss the sequel.. will try to post more pics then.

i didnt expect the somewhat "overwhelming" response from my first night out clubbing. beside the tags, friends were msn-ing me abt.. well typical questions:
"shujuan! u went clubbing arh!! wah! finally..."
"aiyo.. shujuan! i heard u duno how to dance arh! *sniggers*"
"shujuan! goodness ur alcohol tolerance level so low? lousy leh!" etc.. etc.. ultimately revolving me, the country bumpkin, going clubbing.
and so, i shall entertain you guys with my post-syndromes of "under-prepared clubbing"
...
if u have read my prev entry (on clubbing) all the way to the bottom, you would have noticed this postnote: "freak. just discovered that i developed rashes! how nice.. grr." yup, i woke up 8am the next day and found these tiny bumps spreading all over my body.. especially the torso area.
at first i didnt notice, cuz it wasnt itchy whatsoever. then i discovered the red patches on my arms.. and later, my mum gasped in horror when she saw my neck all red with those tiny goosebumps like thingy. so i didnt take too long to realise.. ive developed rashes (whatever the medical term).
obviously, my parents went smth like, "see la! drink so much. see la!" and start making me drink some liang cha to "retreat" the heat/alcoholic toxins in my body. gah. i wasnt really bothered by the red patches initially. but not for long..
the red patches didnt go away that sunday. worse, it became insanely itchy. i have to apply talcum powder to help soothe the itch.. but not working. and great. ive got lessons on monday.
so i went to school on monday with a sweater although the weather wasnt fantastically cold. well, on my way to school that morning (i was on the train then).. there were no seats and i was feeling sick. like im going to concuss anytime. in my mind there were furious conflicting thoughts:
"sheesh, im not going to make it to school.. daddy fetch me home!!"
"hello? u are already here (somewhere in bugis).. dun make a wasted trip! besides, u got tutorial to attend and assignment to hand up ya.."
so.. i alighted at city hall station, grabbed the available bench in front of me and took a breather. it worked! felt better and off i went to school again..
that night the itch and redness remained. my dad got worried (perhaps he hasnt seen a worse drinker than me in his life) and summon me to the doctor. gahhhh.. and starring *the comical doctor!*
"so shujuan, what's wrong with you? hmm, u havent been here (the doc's) for about a year!"
"erh.. i wouldnt want to frequent here, doctor. yup anyway, i developed some red bumps all over my body."
"red bumps?! they look more like red patches to me..."
"she went drinking," my mum snapped in.
"aiyo.. went drinking arh.. no wonder la.. so shujuan, u are allergic to alcohol u know..." the doctor went on explaining deeper about this... mentioning some lucky people have it but it will be gone in a day or two.
"and so," i said, "i happen to be the suay lot right..." -__-
...
the doc asked me what i drank in one part of the consultation. i said, "vodka and rum" nonchalantly. the doc gasped in horror (adults...) and said, " what?! vodka??! it's very strong eh! and you are still so young!... bad for liver... yada yada.." doc also mentioned, "good la, now that u know u are allergic to alcohol.. u wun drink in the future." (i sniggered)
it's rather amusing to see a doc lecturing a patient as if she's 12. anyway i left the clinic with a MC (doc insisted to give me one.. i wonder why) and 2 packets of medicine. 20 bucks. arh. clubbing is an experience.. an expensively itchy one to be exact. lol.
(and sorry, i cant charm guys for free drinks.. sigh.)

watched 2 significantly different genres (whatever u call it) of movies during the recess week.
first up: The Haunted Apartments

this movie is.. erm. interesting. most of the time i was scaring myself more than what the movie can really scare.
in brief, something like this: father and daughter moved into the "haunted apartment".. the residents of that block of apartments have to abide to the midnight curfew. if not, they'd be mysteriously killed by the girl, Ai. so the daughter who just moved in was finding ways to break this curse..
well.. i thot the highlights of the show are: (1) this cute guy (who died in the end.. well middle actually) (2) the unforgettable scene of the little girl with eyes (without pupils) and mouth foaming/salivating (its on the top left hand corner of the poster, if u want to see).. ranting, "do not mention Ai within the apartments!" (yes, besides the spirit, the little girl was named Ai too)
some parts of the story were crazy (like there's this couple slitting their wrists and sucking each other's blood for food. im like, "what?!"..) the ending was really weird too. so i went out of the theatre with a big "huh?!"... basically the show was sub-standard. or perhaps the atmosphere in the theatre was too light-hearted. there were bursts of laughter throughout the whole movie. well, guess these people thought it was a comedy more than a horror flick.
movie 2: Rob-B-Hood

i laughed from the start to (nearly) the end of the show! matthew (the baby) is freakinggg cute! enough said. i shan't divulge too much.. so get ur tix! watch the movie! :)
anyway.. i want to watch Death Note!!! cool! arh! and the guys are soooo shuai! mesmerised. *_*
30 sept: after much procrastination, 3 brave souls decided to club and quit being labelled "suaku". mingshu managed to find a clubber friend and so, off we went to butter factory.
the 3 of us met up first and took a cab there. lol.. then mingshu went on about why we didnt do research and whatnot... about our first time clubbing and all. she went on about ordering drinks. tsk. and i only know, for nuts, something called "screwdriver" (thanks poh). so mingshu went on, "ya, and so what's the content for screwdriver?"
of course i wun have a single clue!!
soonafter we reached the destination, i was the last to leave the cab since i was paying. and the amused taxi driver told me,"erm... screwdriver has vodka and orange."
i answered, "orh", awkwardly. crap! he was listening soo attentively to our conversations! grr.
we were early so there wasnt a queue. cover charge of $20. a watermark stamp on ur wrist. coupons for 2 drinks. yes, off you go to be a clubber. i went in, amazed by the first interior setting i saw. whimsically decorated with lots of cute motifs... comparable to the motifs you find on "new world order" tee designs.
then the real thing - the "clubbing area".
butter factory is rather small-scale (as compared to what i saw on magazines and all). we went in, duno what to do. there wasnt much of a crowd then. so we had small talks by shouting to each other (the music is freaking loud, duh) to "integrate" ourselves as part of the clubbers.
order drinks time! the clubber friend started off with vodka lime. nt bad. then mingshu, bee ordered vodka with cranberry/raspberry/.. whatever.. not too bad either. i ordered none other than... screwdriver! haha. nice drink! :)
clubbing is an intoxifying experience. the lights, the alcohol, the (freaking slow) music, the smoke that lingers... people just get high and dance. i quite enjoyed myself with all these stimuli... trying to groove to the (freaking slow) music... but gah, the girls complaint that i DIDNT dance. like hello, its not that i didnt dance, i cant dance. ask me do the alluring sways.. next time perhaps.
then then then... when the mood was right, the freaking LIGHTS (yes, as in lights, not those dancing lights) were switched on. freak? police raid, they told me. we got to get out of butter factory while they do a traffic count. because of this dumb raid, we got to finish up the 2 jugs of rum coke at one go alright. so that the drinks were not gone to waste. yes, i became seriously intoxificated - by alcohol. felt really bad if i stand up. so i care less and sat down. i duno if this is a sign of going to be drunk. but doesnt feel good.. we were considered really suay to meet with this kind of police raid. that clubber friend went on complaining, "this is the first time i meet with police raid leh!".. dampened mood. we went somewhere nearby for supper.
the clubber's boyfriend drove us to this prata shop for supper. aww. prata ok? but! i dun have the appetite at all. just wanted a drink. but since im in a prata shop.. temptation sets in and i ordered mushroom and cheese prata. other days i'd have finish it clean. that night, i forced down my throat a quarter of the prata and gave the rest to bee. grr. prata prata! i miss prata!
...
and so.. do i have the potential to be a clubber? firstly, lets just have a checklist:
1. dressing --> fail. think my clubbing gear was crap compared to other clubbers. and my makeup was horrid too.
2. drinker --> fail/pass. as you can see, i nearly got drunk.. by innocent rum and vodka. but i thot it wasnt that bad cuz i did manage to clean off my makeup before plonking myself into bed. and i woke up at 8 plus in the morning the next day without hangovers!
3. dancer --> fail. big cross! haha. yes i know nuts about dancing.
and i kinda figured out why some people are so attached to clubbing. ultimately revolves around "socialising".
clubbers get close to each other, make quick friends... the lights are freaking dim, alcohol makes you high... so who cares anyway?
well clubbing was really an experience.. time for me to train my drinking, so that i wont make myself look silly for future functions.
[postnote: freak. just discovered that i developed rashes! how nice.. grr.]
