after breakfast, the group of us took a cab to Chatuchak! took lots of crappy photos~ woohoo. and we even met a driver who don't wasnt sure of the way! isnt chatuchak suppose to be a tourist destination?
spotted: HOT PINK CAB! sexy. the girls then crapped about bringing the hot pink cab to singapore.. with sexy girls as drivers! haha. cool idea?
anyway... chatuchak is huggggeeee. its impossible to comb every shop. in fact, i think we barely walked 25% of the whole of chatuchak in 2-3 hrs. got alot of nicey tees! now i regret la. should have buy more. grr. and i think they should have a lot of bags.. which we barely touched! regret regret! i want a bag!!
after chatutak we took a bus to platinum fashion mall. aka the wholesale mall. the store people always quote retail + wholesale px. anyway.. we took a bus. and yeah! another culture shock. its a rather dilapitated bus, no air-con. barely seats.

speed all you want - we take pics for all we can! smile :)
and the bus driver just speed like crazy. and their bus stops seem like everywhere and anywhere. they stop and you have to alight FAST. the exit doors are permanently open and so.. u just alight/board quickly! i had this dangerous alighting experience la. which is like.. never will it happen in singapore. anyway, so u might be thinking, how do you pay for the ride?
sorry hor there's no such thing as "ez-link card". neither are there auto ticket thingy in the old sbs bus. so we have the permanent bus conductor. i tell you, she is damn power k! as ive said the bus speeds like crazy and its a feat to balance while standing. and she did! plus she can NONCHALANTLY walk to and fro the bus, PLUS PLUS one hand holding the coin cylinder thingy. amazing but true! i really wonder how she manage to balance walking while collecting money into the cylinder which has a big opening? won't she drop coins? power!
platinum fashion mall is THE mall that tires me out. it is huge. i shopped till my legs almost gave way ok. and we spent the day there.. BUT we never manage to finish combing the whole mall. yeah. that big. its like.. you feel satisfied clearing one lane. but to your horror, there's another FIVE lanes to go in section A of the level. there's section B, and that's another 6 lanes or so for the same level. TIRING ok!
luckily we stopped by a manicure shop and obviously did manicure. its printed. the turnout wasnt as good as i thought it could be. rather disappointed.
after the tiring shopping, we stopped by the food court. its more advanced than singapore. they have started the cashless dining system. so you buy food with card. macham cashcard. lol.. i was having some difficulty communicating the food we are going to order. nonetheless.. done! :) then we dragged our feet back to the hotel..
but that's not the end to the itinery!
after a quick shower we left for thai massage! my first experience.. being swung.. uh. tt's abit exaggerated. haha. anyway it really relieved my tired soles. problem came with the tipping system. its general courtesy to tip. but some of the masseurs(how u spell it) demanded for more tips! which is yikes. i think because i tipped too much and created some trouble for the other girls. sigh.

finally we realise that's not much time left and our shopping list is still as long as ever. so we went MBK by foot. we stopped by lots of places in the midst of the trail. souvenir shop.. local food stores.. siam paragon.. discovery ctr.. even the famous temple in Bangkok! took loads of pics! their decor is so much more interesting than the cliche themes we have in singapore. much more creative. which im sooo jealous of!
outside amari watergate. me acting poised. obviously im not. gah. failed attempt! cross!!
the "Tharlie's Angels."
the girls!! glam glam! :)

L and meeeee! *muackz*

acting very tourist at siam paragon.

me with swan. =D

this pic is classic! no need to elaborate further =)
discovery centre.. i love this whimsically designed christmas tree!
look! their escalators are 10X more chic than ours!
MBK.. another exciting round of adventure. we first stopped at MK restaurant for a steamboat feast. we were practically forcing the last few pieces of steamboat stuff into our throats. and then we realise we dont have much time to lose. so we became more focused in our shopping.
so me and poh were combing the shops for birkies. after a longggg while we finally found birkies! haha.. and we met this super cute shop assistant too! his words are all sugar coated la. lol. but besides that we were already quite into the birkies designs they have. i even asked him to take pics with us! cool cool? lol..
** but i don't think im posting it here.. since it wasnt allowed to take pics in the mall in the first place. ask me personally.**
just a sidetrack, many cab drivers thought we are japanese! lol.. nihongo. haha..
anyway! mbk is much smaller. we at least combed the place twice! but we couldnt find nicey bags. grr. we then move on to another plaza which is linked to mbk. that place is much more exciting. many acrylic manicure stores + white/black uniform stores (which i duno why).. but there are stuff like watches.. accessories.. clothes.. which are much more young/street style = suits me! lol.
then another small adventure: ting wanted to buy polo tee for her cousin. but she wasnt sure if it'd fit. so she asked me in chinese, " eh do you think that guy can fit into the polo tee ar?" apparently there was this guy at the shop too.
then i went to ask..
me: "hi, can you help us try this top?"
the cute guy no. 2: "uh.. ke neng chuan bu xia.." (CHINESE!! SUPER ACCURATE CHINESE!)
ting n me were like sooo diu lian can.
anyway he tried the top.. as in wear over his current tee on the spot. indeed it was a tad tight fitting. we got curious.
me: "uh.. so are you a Chinese or a Thai?" (i also don't know why i still spoke ENGLISH. gah.)
he (continue to speak in Chinese).. explaining he's from Hong Kong.. (so he flaunt a bit of his Canto too.. haha!) but he lived in Bangkok for 10 over years. lol. we were so amazed! haha.
time is running short.. so we went back to mbk to meet the rest, who were waiting for us for a long time already! oops. there, we bought more local goodies! yum! free flow of drinks + sampling + discount prices! all thanks to uncle! uncle is really fantastic ok.. his thai network of friends is so great!
we brought back boxes + bags = loot to the hotel. left again to chinatown for sharks fin! woohoo. again, amazingly low price. :)
before shark's fin feast
back to the hotel, we went to nua in jer's room.. took pics.. slacked.. till 2-3 in the morning. when the next day we have to wake up real early to the airport! sob sob. so fast huh? =/

to Huiting, the organiser, for this wonderful trip. thanks for all the paper/admin work u've done up to make this trip ever possible.
to Jun Kee, poh's dar, for being the big brother and make sure no lost sheep among us, be the one to ask the driver "got meter?".. tolerating our camera flashes whenever we are in the cab.. for us stealing some (or most of the) time with poh!
to my hotel roomie, Bee.. thanks for taking care of me! haha.. i know my cough/cold were unbearable.. lol.
to my shopping kakis.. thanks for being there!

taking pics in the cab. wonder if the driver was annoyed by the incessant flashlight! lol.
