my first (clubbing) night out!

30 sept: after much procrastination, 3 brave souls decided to club and quit being labelled "suaku". mingshu managed to find a clubber friend and so, off we went to butter factory.

the 3 of us met up first and took a cab there. lol.. then mingshu went on about why we didnt do research and whatnot... about our first time clubbing and all. she went on about ordering drinks. tsk. and i only know, for nuts, something called "screwdriver" (thanks poh). so mingshu went on, "ya, and so what's the content for screwdriver?"

of course i wun have a single clue!!

soonafter we reached the destination, i was the last to leave the cab since i was paying. and the amused taxi driver told me,"erm... screwdriver has vodka and orange."

i answered, "orh", awkwardly. crap! he was listening soo attentively to our conversations! grr.

we were early so there wasnt a queue. cover charge of $20. a watermark stamp on ur wrist. coupons for 2 drinks. yes, off you go to be a clubber. i went in, amazed by the first interior setting i saw. whimsically decorated with lots of cute motifs... comparable to the motifs you find on "new world order" tee designs.

then the real thing - the "clubbing area".

butter factory is rather small-scale (as compared to what i saw on magazines and all). we went in, duno what to do. there wasnt much of a crowd then. so we had small talks by shouting to each other (the music is freaking loud, duh) to "integrate" ourselves as part of the clubbers.

order drinks time! the clubber friend started off with vodka lime. nt bad. then mingshu, bee ordered vodka with cranberry/raspberry/.. whatever.. not too bad either. i ordered none other than... screwdriver! haha. nice drink! :)

clubbing is an intoxifying experience. the lights, the alcohol, the (freaking slow) music, the smoke that lingers... people just get high and dance. i quite enjoyed myself with all these stimuli... trying to groove to the (freaking slow) music... but gah, the girls complaint that i DIDNT dance. like hello, its not that i didnt dance, i cant dance. ask me do the alluring sways.. next time perhaps.

then then then... when the mood was right, the freaking LIGHTS (yes, as in lights, not those dancing lights) were switched on. freak? police raid, they told me. we got to get out of butter factory while they do a traffic count. because of this dumb raid, we got to finish up the 2 jugs of rum coke at one go alright. so that the drinks were not gone to waste. yes, i became seriously intoxificated - by alcohol. felt really bad if i stand up. so i care less and sat down. i duno if this is a sign of going to be drunk. but doesnt feel good.. we were considered really suay to meet with this kind of police raid. that clubber friend went on complaining, "this is the first time i meet with police raid leh!".. dampened mood. we went somewhere nearby for supper.

the clubber's boyfriend drove us to this prata shop for supper. aww. prata ok? but! i dun have the appetite at all. just wanted a drink. but since im in a prata shop.. temptation sets in and i ordered mushroom and cheese prata. other days i'd have finish it clean. that night, i forced down my throat a quarter of the prata and gave the rest to bee. grr. prata prata! i miss prata!

...

and so.. do i have the potential to be a clubber? firstly, lets just have a checklist:

1. dressing --> fail. think my clubbing gear was crap compared to other clubbers. and my makeup was horrid too.
2. drinker --> fail/pass. as you can see, i nearly got drunk.. by innocent rum and vodka. but i thot it wasnt that bad cuz i did manage to clean off my makeup before plonking myself into bed. and i woke up at 8 plus in the morning the next day without hangovers!
3. dancer --> fail. big cross! haha. yes i know nuts about dancing.

and i kinda figured out why some people are so attached to clubbing. ultimately revolves around "socialising".
clubbers get close to each other, make quick friends... the lights are freaking dim, alcohol makes you high... so who cares anyway?

well clubbing was really an experience.. time for me to train my drinking, so that i wont make myself look silly for future functions.

[postnote: freak. just discovered that i developed rashes! how nice.. grr.]
