this is random. i just got reminded of my "violent inclinations"..
i love/would love to whack at.. MASCOTS! especially those looking furry and all.

i wrote this post on jan 26 last year, an excerpt:

"after class, we checked out the nbs week -- rapture day 3! lol... we were attracted by the free lunches, $4 movie tix passes and.. the goodie bag!!

and so... along our way to figure out what's going on ard the booth, this mascot (a supposedly street-style, spunky and short [oops!] thingy with 3 strands of erm.. "hair") tapped on my shoulders! i was amused by tt strange looking mascot (cuz it aint cute nor its funky), and i just looked, smiled and turned away, continuing to figure out with my friends where to get goodie bags...

then tt thingy tried to be entertaining.. (i also duno what he/she's doing tho.) he/she persisted to get my attention! then this girl came, supposedly the "spokesperson" for the mascot (the mascot is wearing a big head gear under the hot sun). and according to the spokesperson, he/she is trying to be frens (?!) with me! haha!

then guess what i did, i just whacked the poor mascot! lol! violent inclinations. we almost ended up fighting.. (ok.. tt's abit exaggerated.) she said the mascot wanted to take photo with me. lol! my frens were like so hesitant to take pic together, so i took some time to draggg my frens into the pic with tt strangly looking mascot! lol... after the "pic taking session", the mascot and i "reconciled" with a handshake. so funny right! lol. im still so amused by it!"

secret balcony - discovered in campus!

was helping ling to do some recording.. and wow, like the first time in my 2-point-going-5 years in ntu, i found this cool tutorial room! woots.

firstly, it has 落地窗户 (argh! i can't find the english word for this! irritated.. it slipped my mind! anyone be kind and remind me.. hate my english) - for sunlight to seep in.



next, as you draw the curtain, you see a door..



and tada.. push/slide (i can't remember) the door and voila! a secret balcony before your eyes. so cool right! (ok, apparently ling didnt share my excitement.. she expected everyone to know about this already. hurhur.)



but still interesting what. :)

temp-ing at a fair..

day 1

kinda lost at first since i didnt know anyone there yet. but thankfully the ice-breaking was a quickie. nothing much to do since it was a weekday.. but got a lil' "adventure".

a group of japanese tourists came to the fair and appeared very enthusiatic and excited. they purchased our items and were enjoying the fair quite a bit. later one of them approached us (another temp girl & myself) with a camera.

i was still thinking that he was asking one of us to help him take a group shot with his friends. and guess what, he wanted to take pic with us lor! arrr.. just obliged lor. haha. i guess this is the first time i met such situations though. kinda, interesting :)

day 2

aww, the other temp girl's last day was yesterday.. so i'm alone today! was still pretty ok.. and hurhur, the guys know me better liao and start bully me! tsk tsk. one of them so teh lor. arrrr. act cute la. but still a nice bunch of slackers :)

darling mingshu and lisi came and look for me after their CRAZY spree at The Body Shop warehouse sale. i can't help but to emphasize on the word CRAZY. just look at their loot -

back of my mind i was thinking.. isn't it suppose to be a sale? why are they spending so much? lol. girls just go ga-ga over "5 for $5", "$49.90 NOW: $19.90" kinda thing. perhaps if i were there, i'd have gone crazy too.. not sure. :)

day 3

oh yeah, got poh to accompany me to work :) so long nv meet up with her lor.. nicey girls' talk! love her la. was really busy, could have gone out-of-hand when the guys are nuah-ing.. haha. love you hunney! felt so much safer with you around. hahaha!

had a real yummy dinner sponsored by another booth. yummm (but really very very full at the end, they gave us too much food!).

oh yes, chua came and look for me too! sho sweet~ but i was busy at that point of time, so didnt really have time to talk to her. but still.. appreciate loads!

arh, my legs almost gave way too! tired feet. but i felt accomplished for day 3. happppy.

Chronicles of a Balloon

the last time i held on a balloon was like.. a few years ago? when i thought balloons were almighty and all. hurhur.. balloons were more easily available then, but now.. shops selling such party stuff are dwindling (the century square outlet is gone, as far as i remember) and it may be a feat to get helium-pumped balloons during roadshows and the likes. after all, who will give you one, when you are not a kid anymore?

one day, shihui gave me a lime-green balloon from her club event. she was actually thinking of letting go of the balloon on the way to another building, until she saw me.

ooh, i have a balloon! woohoo. and i attended lecture with it while the rest of the girls tried to shove me to the side so that the balloon is less attention-grabbing! :)

i brought the balloon up into the train, attracting bizarre looks from other passengers.



rainbow even threatened to poke the balloon!



shihui saw how fascinated i was with a balloon and suggested my future boyfriend to get me a bunch of balloons instead of roses. why can't i have both? =D

after escaping from the train unscathed, balloon went up the bus :)


this time round i sat at the last seat so that it's not so AA when i took a pic secretly.

it was left drifting on my ceiling for a night, and lying around my room days after. got bored with it. hoho.

this photoshoot is meant for the school to store our faces (in professional business suits) in their database. what for?

so that our prospective employers can match the resumes with the respective faces! -_-

why does it sound as if im meeting a prospective husband instead? gah.

don't expect too much from this photoshoot. there isn't any studio to speak of, just a makeshift corner in a room with the background stuck with white mahjong paper (yeah, that's our background for the photoshoot).

well, the professional bits may be the "stylist", who will advise you on whether your attire is appropriate and start using water nozzle spray to wet & style your hair.

or, the photographer. whom my friend loudly claimed that he looks so much like jack sparrow!

pirates of the carribean, anyone? (:

anyway, the photoshoot was pretty fast and a tad amusing to tilt the head at a weird angle (i.e. head move, shoulder don't move) and smile.

the rest of the fun bits actually happened after the photoshoot - in the washroom - where we started to take a whole load of pics! :D

thanks to eric, i got to know more "etiquettes" on clubbing. but no thanks eric who kept asking us to drink drink and drink! gahh.

and yeah, drink again while playing 5-10 with the interns. lol. don't understand how people have the energy to get high in midweek. don't have to work?! gah.

nah, i wasn't up there in the balloon. was walking and it caught my eye. there you go..

wanted to experience it, but sigh, i reckon this is more fun for couples.. and heck, what's there to see in singapore? reservoirs, buildings or trees?

professional attachment started and i've been getting busy with an up-and-coming project. busy, but i'm happy. it's an eye-opener so far, and i believe i will be experiencing more thrills in the weeks to come :)

fyi, my new alias is "jayne". or rather, in QB term, my "platform name". yes, im sick of repeating my name to the other party when i know they can never get it right (at least for the 1st few times). i lost count of the times my name is mispronounced or un-recalled (if there's such a word). something easy to remember now, and it's close to my name. all ends well. ha. i believe i'll continue to use it when meeting "hi-&-byes". save the trouble.

i'm so going to be a basics junkie. topshop, mango, dorothy perkins. plus the lovely long necklace chains.. finallyyyy took note of the raves. i wonder if this is a sign of growing old or something, that youngster streetwear style is getting distant. gah.

i realised the way i walk is horridly wrong! omg!! is it because i wear birkies too often? i begin to notice that i walk like this..

like finally...

i can take a breather :) albeit short, im contented. felt so great once the accounting quiz was over! not because im confident i'll score, but because i don't have to fret over stupid accounting for the moment :)

outdated updates...

1. a happy Valentine's day to all attached. well, nothing romantic happened to me. how to be romantic with the dumb quiz in mind? lol. but i missed my morning seminar to see the doctor. i finally couldnt tahan my cough.. like. finally. haha.

me: i've been coughing since november..

doc: really? can you tell me when's your recent cough? do not include those that you've recovered from.

me: urh.. just cough lor. like never stop leh. on and off..

doc: there're 3 possibilities. 1. you have cancer.. (me:!) 2. you have TB.. (me: !! not that serious ba..) or 3. you have a sensitive throat (phew. at least this is not a bad alternative, right?)

he went on to talk about the possibilities.. and prescribed 1 week of antibiotics + medication. if i continue to cough, that's it. got to take x-ray for a thorough checkup. sigh. please pray that i just have an ultra-sensitive throat ya?

2. s310 class gathering at Breeks! plus mr z' bday plus shopping = TIRED!
this is the class gathering with the best turnout rate. kudos to nurul for being an amazing organiser. i finally got to see people like meiyan, linyee, sulastri, & nurul! :) then to a dozen places for shopping. marina sq, suntec, raffles s.c., shaw, plaza sing.. glad to see my guy friends being look-conscious. that's a great start! and i love their jap street style jeans from People of Asia! got myself a frilly detailed top too. haha. after much debate with rainbow. lol.

plus.. we were at suntec and we saw the bunch of NUS students raising funds for the needy. lol. we donated 5 bucks and took a pic with their urh.. "moo-moo backdrop"? lol. KOH JT! PIC!! interesting ya. plus got handmade bookmarks too.. :) we even went to the "Wheel of Fortune" water thingy. unusual experience all in all..

anyway, now i know we can WALK to plaza singapura from raffles city shopping centre. but.. im not willing to try the second time! my legs almost gave way from the tiresome shopping + walking! lol. but took pics.. again~ gee. KOH JT I WANT THE PICS TO BE POSTED HERE!! *shout*

3. my VS6 is BACK! :) but reconfigured = all pics, sms, contacts, every single thing - GONE. other than the default settings of the phone that is. sigh. was quite upset initially.. then i thought, why not use this chance to start anew?

4. CNY is round the corner and my room is in total chaos! not my fault. blame it on all the stupid tests, projects, assignments whatnot. ha.

5. confused identity. this guy outside the MRT station just stopped me and asked if im from Ngee Ann (like hello? where did he infer that??!)..

me: huh?!

he: har? don't tell me you're working? (so what if i AM working?!)

me: urh.. im from NTU. *flash a weak smile.. and walked away*
