A lot of things to say.

this is likely to be my last post before i go for my exam break. not to worry, i promise a long entry to keep you entertained (if you are entertained by my entries in the first place). so there you go. loads of random ramblings, food and pictures!

at cathay cineleisure - sister brand for billy bombers (and i forgot the name for the sister brand)

procrastinating kills. did another last minute assignment and handed it up to the prof with loads of guilt. but 我不见棺材不掉泪! and thus, i never ever learn my lesson. i really want to start early but i keep putting it off my mind, till the last minute. (on a happy note, another last minute assignment of mine earned praises from my prof eh! hohoho.) if anyone can change this ultra bad habit of mine.. i will love you to bits! let's call it "saving procrastinator tenshio project", aka "mission impossible".

oh yes, so after submitting the guilt-ridden assignment (post edit: did surprisingly well for the assignment as well as the overall coursework. guess the prof is really lenient), i want to have fun! so i asked mingshu out to shop at orchard. i can't really remember the shopping part by now, but i do remember our really full lunch/dinner!

Ads Galore

singapore is crowded with marketing communications. flyers, posters, lcd screens.. you name it, they got (most of) it. space is so carefully utilised that not even an inch of space is wasted. but sadly, successful ones are rare.

fret not, i'm here to scoop great local ads for you :)

ocbc has utilised a not-so-hidden-place-but-conspicuous-with-its-loud-red-colour to play up people's curiosity.

first, you see this red button which innocently says "press here".



but other than that red button, there's nothing else. it raises the temptation to press or not to press the button, 'cause you'd have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next.

it's attention-grabbing. i thought i saw a whooping 50 bucks when i first caught sight of it lying on the table. unfortunately, nope.. it's simply one of their promotional gimmick. when did such "financial company" evolve till this stage of using flyers to attract business huh?

but i must say they are quite successful. among the other random flyers in the mailbox asking you to change your window grilles, door, rent/buy flat, woks/pans, tuition, (*insert all other crappy flyer ads in your mailbox).. at least im still amused by this flyer.

almost everyone is asking me to hold a party - especially tk gang and the mj peeps. i wish i could, but.. there are so many constraints. for years i've not celebrated with my friends on the actual day itself, all because of PSLE/O levels/A levels/Uni exams. sigh.

it's a birthday - albeit 21st, and i'm making such a great deal out of this whole thing. *roll eyes* you people are going to scream at me. i feel like screaming at myself already. =(

i wrote this post on jan 26 last year, an excerpt:

"after class, we checked out the nbs week -- rapture day 3! lol... we were attracted by the free lunches, $4 movie tix passes and.. the goodie bag!!

and so... along our way to figure out what's going on ard the booth, this mascot (a supposedly street-style, spunky and short [oops!] thingy with 3 strands of erm.. "hair") tapped on my shoulders! i was amused by tt strange looking mascot (cuz it aint cute nor its funky), and i just looked, smiled and turned away, continuing to figure out with my friends where to get goodie bags...

then tt thingy tried to be entertaining.. (i also duno what he/she's doing tho.) he/she persisted to get my attention! then this girl came, supposedly the "spokesperson" for the mascot (the mascot is wearing a big head gear under the hot sun). and according to the spokesperson, he/she is trying to be frens (?!) with me! haha!

then guess what i did, i just whacked the poor mascot! lol! violent inclinations. we almost ended up fighting.. (ok.. tt's abit exaggerated.) she said the mascot wanted to take photo with me. lol! my frens were like so hesitant to take pic together, so i took some time to draggg my frens into the pic with tt strangly looking mascot! lol... after the "pic taking session", the mascot and i "reconciled" with a handshake. so funny right! lol. im still so amused by it!"

SCOOP - Gan Bee Teng Bids Goodbye to Singles' Club, Reporter Tenshio Finds Out More



Oct 11 - It's official. Bee Teng, more affectionately known as GanBee, has just announced publicly that she has left the singles' club to join the couples' club, making the couples' club stronger in strength and the poor singles' club dwindling in number.




You can, at the same time, notice how GanBee's hairstyle changes.

Shu Juan, member of the singles' club, describes how GanBee broke the news to her earlier the day.


yeah, i was having a bad cold. and that explains my ghastly face.

Shu Juan has just woke up from her beauty sleep at 11.30a.m. and received a short message from GanBee.

GanBee: "Eh... I'm attached le. With you know who..."

Almost instantaneously (not instantaneous because Shu Juan tried to scroll down the message to confirm if it's one of her cold jokes or is it real), Shu Juan replied. (Which is a miracle as she SELDOMS reply on time) She had a rough idea who was she referring to, but wanted to confirm it.

Shu Juan: "Eh who? :)"

GB: "The one you seen studying with me long long time ago. Singing club vice chair."

(Jiemin, you should know who is she referring to :) )

Shu Juan laughs! She knew it! She never went wrong with her predictions (excluding exam questions though). Shu Juan & Jiemin caught her mugging with a guy at SingPost Mac. We didn't impose them of course, looks like we've done a good course! :)

On a side note, Shu Juan thinks that she makes a good cut-out to be a FORTUNE TELLER! She predicted Eileen Poh & Jun Kee to be together, and they DID! Woohoo. This time round too. (But of course, all these are anecdotal, but still...)


GanBee does not have to hug the wall le. I do. =(

SJ: "Haha! Yeah! Congrats my dear :) Must bring along to future gatherings okie? Started when? :)"

GB: "Last week. I confess. He is dumb! Haha."

Eileen Poh, member of the couples' club, adds, "They like each other for a long time! But didn't have the courage to confess until now!"



Eileen is also the first person to know about the news. She felt "touched" when GanBee told her that their relationship was approved by a pastor. EDIT: because "有情人终成眷属". (To prevent liability with Ms Poh :) Not easy to be comms student isn't it? The thin line between sensationalising and truth. Ok, that's beside the point ;))

Both Eileen and Shu Juan, although in different clubs, all felt how sacred their love went beyond. They are feeling really overjoyed about the news!

was helping ling to do some recording.. and wow, like the first time in my 2-point-going-5 years in ntu, i found this cool tutorial room! woots.

firstly, it has 落地窗户 (argh! i can't find the english word for this! irritated.. it slipped my mind! anyone be kind and remind me.. hate my english) - for sunlight to seep in.



next, as you draw the curtain, you see a door..



and tada.. push/slide (i can't remember) the door and voila! a secret balcony before your eyes. so cool right! (ok, apparently ling didnt share my excitement.. she expected everyone to know about this already. hurhur.)

temp-ing at a fair..

day 1

kinda lost at first since i didnt know anyone there yet. but thankfully the ice-breaking was a quickie. nothing much to do since it was a weekday.. but got a lil' "adventure".

a group of japanese tourists came to the fair and appeared very enthusiatic and excited. they purchased our items and were enjoying the fair quite a bit. later one of them approached us (another temp girl & myself) with a camera.

i was still thinking that he was asking one of us to help him take a group shot with his friends. and guess what, he wanted to take pic with us lor! arrr.. just obliged lor. haha. i guess this is the first time i met such situations though. kinda, interesting :)

day 2

aww, the other temp girl's last day was yesterday.. so i'm alone today! was still pretty ok.. and hurhur, the guys know me better liao and start bully me! tsk tsk. one of them so teh lor. arrrr. act cute la. but still a nice bunch of slackers :)

darling mingshu and lisi came and look for me after their CRAZY spree at The Body Shop warehouse sale. i can't help but to emphasize on the word CRAZY. just look at their loot -

oh yeah, got poh to accompany me to work :) so long nv meet up with her lor.. nicey girls' talk! love her la. was really busy, could have gone out-of-hand when the guys are nuah-ing.. haha. love you hunney! felt so much safer with you around. hahaha!

had a real yummy dinner sponsored by another booth. yummm (but really very very full at the end, they gave us too much food!).

oh yes, chua came and look for me too! sho sweet~ but i was busy at that point of time, so didnt really have time to talk to her. but still.. appreciate loads!

arh, my legs almost gave way too! tired feet. but i felt accomplished for day 3. happppy.

woohoo. decided to give myself a lil' break from all the mundane projects/assignments/tutorials/(you know it) :) and since it's already october (arh! which is so freaking fast la.. bah.), i will continue with the rest of the september birthday partyyys.

she's always there to motivate me by saying things will eventually turn out right. thankful to have her around to calm my jitters (fyp.. arrr. nv fail to daunt me like crazy).

and, a good way to celebrate a birthday -- project discussion! ha, we had project discussion at TCC. and i love it there! the ambience, the food, the food decor, the service.. thumbs up! (or perhaps i'm too under-pampered in those regular restaurants -_-)

one weekend and i attended 2 ivys' parties!

the first was held in smu fruch. it's a nice chill-out cafe/pub with loads of games! we tried to entertain ourselves by playing board games and card games (and that's when i know what's taboo, or rather, the game is called taboo. haha), but eventually got bored. so took pics again lor!

Chronicles of a Balloon

the last time i held on a balloon was like.. a few years ago? when i thought balloons were almighty and all. hurhur.. balloons were more easily available then, but now.. shops selling such party stuff are dwindling (the century square outlet is gone, as far as i remember) and it may be a feat to get helium-pumped balloons during roadshows and the likes. after all, who will give you one, when you are not a kid anymore?

one day, shihui gave me a lime-green balloon from her club event. she was actually thinking of letting go of the balloon on the way to another building, until she saw me.

ooh, i have a balloon! woohoo. and i attended lecture with it while the rest of the girls tried to shove me to the side so that the balloon is less attention-grabbing! :)

i brought the balloon up into the train, attracting bizarre looks from other passengers.



rainbow even threatened to poke the balloon!



shihui saw how fascinated i was with a balloon and suggested my future boyfriend to get me a bunch of balloons instead of roses. why can't i have both? =D

after escaping from the train unscathed, balloon went up the bus :)


this time round i sat at the last seat so that it's not so AA when i took a pic secretly.

thanks to poh, who even volunteered to help me take pictures for an assignment so that i can rest at home. appreciate that thought, but i rejected her kind offer.. it's just not fair to use sickness as an excuse for so many favours.

ok! got more pics here le. the tkgirls were invited over to her house for a steamboat (cum yummy bbq-like chicken wings) feast!

perhaps the setting was really more "at home" (since we've visited her house for CNY for years, hence the familiarity), the tkgirls really "demure & resolute" no more. lol.. just imagine a round table of about 8 people.. screaming/shouting/loud gossiping across the table.. even lisi's boyfriend cannot tahan our presence (and flee into the room for computer games).. hahahaa! easier for more gossips now :)

after a much tiring get-together session.. we decided it was cut-cake time! woots.
